Birthdays

Leila's 80th Birthday Party - Primrose Cottage

Please allow the video to complete the first time you play it, then play it again to enjoy it without interruptions.

This is Jan's album of her mother's birthday. Leila is creating an album and we'll post it here soon.
Jan Shaw called me a while back to check with me about shooting her mother's 80th birthday. We discussed the details. The venue is one of my favorites, Primrose Cottage. She talked about a large bus, custom baseball cards, full sized baseball cut-outs, colorful hats, a photo booth and a collection of excited and wonderful friends and family members. I was 'all in,' this sounded like it was going to be throw down.

It was, what a great party and what a great job of organizing the event by Jan and her family. Dana Hornbeck and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and so did everyone else that attended. The food was awesome, as were the deserts, the decorations and the party favors. We felt so honored to document such a joyous event and we wish all the great folks we met all the best.
Once everyone arrived, received refreshments and exchanged hugs, it was time to get the party started. Leila and her friends and family went downstairs to the lobby of the ballroom where a large assortment of hats were available for the ladies before they stepped into the photo booth and had some pictures made. What a blast!
Gotta have a group shot. What a beautiful collection of classy ladies and gentlemen.

Save the Dates

Brooke & Josh - Save the Date

Barbara and I met Brooke and Josh at the Fudge Factory right off the square in Dahlonega for a Save the Date shoot. We really liked Brooke and Josh and for a little over an hour we shared some time together and got some really nice shots. Can't wait to shoot Brooke and Josh's engagement session and their wedding on February 18th of next year.

It was a nice Saturday morning and we really enjoyed spending it with Brooke and Josh. They are so much in love, have a lot of fun, Brooke's laugh is so infectious and Josh is such a cut-up... we love them!!!!

Save the Dates

Olivia & Joe - Save the Date

Barbara and I met Olivia and Joe for the first time Thursday evening at the Oar House here in Dahlonega. The Oar House is great restaurant east of Dahlonega on Highway 52 right on the Chestatee River. Our get together was a chance for us to get to know each other and to do a little shooting. Olivia and Joe needed some images for their Save the Date and we were happy to get a chance to get this very handsome couple in front of the camera.

We really liked Joe and Olivia, they are a very nice and decent couple. Joe will be commissioned in the US Army next spring, just before their wedding date, and Olivia is a nurse who has returned to college and is pursuing an advanced degree. We spent a very enjoyable evening together and when it was over we felt as though we had made two new friends.

We cannot wait to shoot their engagement session and their wedding; Olivia is going to be such a beautiful bride and Joe will be so handsome in his dress blues.

Portraits

Kaylie - The Queen

It was brought to my attention that Kaylie was disappointed that no pictures were posted online of her from her sister's senior portrait shoot. Kaylie is not one to be disappointed and I certainly am not the one that wishes to disappoint her.

Kaylie is utterly adorable, she is a sweetheart, a real cat lover and we loved her candor.

Senior Portraits

Brittney - Girl From the North Country

Brittney is the Vice President of the state of Georgia Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization for 2011-2012; she is also gorgeous, vivacious and a very nice young lady. Barbara and I spent the afternoon with her, her family and her friends shooting a senior portrait session at a variety of locations in the north Georgia mountains.

The only negative event of the entire day was when Brittney was stung by a honey bee while standing in a sunflower field. Like a true country girl, after a momentary grimmace from the immediacy of the pain, she brushed it off and we continued shooting; no whining, no crying and no need for Dr. Phil.

I was so impressed with Brittney, her family and her friends. Everyone was so kind to Barbara and I and we cannot thank them enough for their gracious hospitality and how much they made us feel at home. We truly had a blast working with Brittney and we captured some incredible images of a genuine north Georgia beauty.
