Olivia and Joe were married at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Buckhead; one of the most beautiful places in Atlanta to be married.
I met Olivia and several of her bridesmaids at her parents home in Lawrenceville. It was a pleasure to finally meet Jackie and Jose, Olivia's parents. I have been corresponding with Jackie for months about the wedding plans. They were gracious hosts as we shot Olivia and the ladies having their hair and makeup done in their beautiful home. Dana arrived mid-afternoon and finished documenting the preparations and then rode in the limo with the ladies to the cathedral. Greg and I met Nawal at Christ the King to prepare for the early evening ceremony. Olivia was so beautiful in wedding gown, the long train and cathedral veil were incredible. The bridesmaids were beautiful in their pretty dresses. Joe in his dress blues and his groomsmen in their tuxedos were handsome. The ceremony included a mass, it was glorious. Olivia and Joe shared their first kiss and we headed to the South Atrium of the Atlanta Financial Center for the reception.
A special thank you to Alicia, our wedding coordinator at Christ the King, she was kind and helpful and kept us on a very tight schedule with grace and poise. Candice Gurr did likewise at the Atlanta Financial Center and we really appreciated all her planning skills and thoughtfulness, she is a very nice lady and we all really enjoyed working with her for the evening. We also would like to mention Caleb and his wife Nicole who were there as the videographers. The Atlanta Financial Center's South Atrium is gorgeous, but it is a very dimly lit venue, particularly around the dance floor. It makes for a superbly romantic atmosphere, but it can very challenging for photography. We really appreciated the video lights that Caleb was kind enough to illuminate our subjects with on several occasions, thanks again Caleb.
Our very best wishes to Olivia and Joe as they head off for their honeymoon. We hope they experience a lifetime of joy and happiness together as Joe begins his military career this summer.
Jordan and Jose are an incredible couple. They were married Sunday, May 20th, 2012 at the beautiful Brasstown Valley Resort. The day after the wedding, Barbara and I returned to shoot a late afternoon and sunset Cherish the Dress session with this loving couple. We are hard at work preparing their images from the wedding and their Cherish the Dress session. At the risk of sounding vain, they're incredible, but I wanted to take a few minutes to share a single image with everyone. This image is far from the best image of our session; we had Jordan and Jose on horseback, in an old buggy, in a wonderful tack room near the stables, in a beautiful field near where this shot was taken with the gorgeous north Georgia mountains wrapped in a gentle fog and so many more. And yet, this image speaks to me. In my humble opinion, the 'SLOW' sign defines how they approach their lives and their love for each other. It encapsulates their essence, gentle and kind, beautiful and affectionate. I will always remember them in this context, very much in love, sharing every moment like there will not be another to follow. They are a truly unique couple. Each has the love of great parents and strong families. They bring loving and respectful friends to their relationship, not to mention the cutest dog named Tucker you have ever seen.
So, Godspeed Jose and a safe return from your duties overseas. We thank you for your dedication and professionalism. You have the love of so many waiting for you when you return, and in particular, a beautiful young woman named Jordan who adores you. All our love to you and Jordan and our best wishes that you share a lifetime of love and happiness enjoying each moment as you enjoyed the moment frozen in time in this image.
Jordan and Jose were married on the Waterfall Lawn of the beautiful Brasstown Valley Resort. The wedding was incredibly inspiring, Brasstown Valley Resort is one of Georgia's most highly ranked venues and for good reason. The facilities are meticulously maintained and the details, both inside the lodge and around the grounds, are breathtakingly beautiful.
The wedding was spectacular; and despite a brief downpour at the conclusion of the ceremony, everyone had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, the scenery was so beautiful and the friends and family of Jordan and Jose were a blast to spend a beautiful day with. We made some great new friends and it was a pleasure to see Diana, Jordan's mother, and Laurel, Jordan's sister, again; we met Diana and Laurel during a scouting trip together at Brasstown Valley Resort a while back.
Our studio has been blessed with incredible clients and we have made friends with folks who are now dispersed geographically within the United States and overseas. Jordan and Jose are one of our very special clients, an incredible young couple with boundless potential and an equally unbounded love for one another. Being in their presence produces an immediate feeling of joy and I find myself unable to stop smiling. Going back to their engagement session, at Amicalola Falls State Park, we developed a strong bond that has blossomed into a lifelong friendship.
Jose is departing for Afghanistan in June and our prayers accompany him to that faraway land. We send our best wishes to him and his unit as they perform their duties, as we likewise send our best wishes to Jordan, the beautiful bride that will anxiously await his safe return. It should be noted that Jose Senior, Jose's father, is a career military officer who just returned from Afghanistan just prior to the wedding, we want to thank him for his service.
We had a great crew photographing Jordan and Jose's wedding. I would be sorely remiss if I didn't identify the superior efforts of Dana Hornbeck, Nawal Bookmiller, Kelsey Vogel and Sarah Chambliss in documenting this incredible event. We were all honored to participate and at the end of the day, as we packed up and downloaded the images from our cards from our cameras, I looked around the table and sensed all were very proud to have participated in such a beautiful wedding for this lovely couple.
We met Adam a few years back when his brother Jonathan married Jessica. Adam was Jonathan's best man and we had a chance to get to know the family of these extraordinary brothers. Barbara and Adam's father knew each other when Barbara attended Lumpkin County High School. They are a loving family, kind and honest, with a penchant for finding and having fun, gracious and giving. Suffice to say, we like them a lot!
When we first met Megan it took us about two seconds to realize these two could not be more perfect for each other. Megan is a nurse, intelligent, witty, sweet and absolutely gorgeous. We shot their engagement session at Jay Love's property last year and had more fun with these two than is legally allowed. It was an incredible session and a portent of what a great wedding day the two of them would enjoy.
On Saturday, May 19th, 2012, Megan and Adam were joined in matrimony in front of their adoring families and numerous friends. Myself, Dana Hornbeck, Nawal Bookmiller and Greg Hornbeck were there to document the joyous occasion. We each had a blast at the Polo Golf & Country Club in Cumming, Georgia. The venue was breathtaking, a special thanks to Camille for being an absolutely incredible host and coordinator - she made everything so easy. But a special thanks to Megan and Adam's families for being so kind, patient and so very gracious. We were honored to be in their presence and to join in the celebration with their friends.
It was a fabulous day that we will never forget and we wish this very attractive and much beloved couple all of God's loving blessings. This was the joining of two wonderful families and the future looks so bright for them all. We are posting a few images while we prepare the remaining images for the online gallery. We hope you enjoy them and are reminded of the glorious events of that special day.
Kayla and Josh were married at the Union County Community Center in Blairsville, Georgia. Kayla was beautiful, she is a woman born in the wrong decade. Kayla is a 50s girl, her dress was gorgeous and reminiscent of that era.
The venue was beautiful, set upon a hilltop, the Union County Community Center overlooks a mountain range and a golf course. The interior decor is very tastefully done and we loved the design of the building and the way it was decorated. We really enjoyed being a part of Kayla and Josh's wedding. Their families and their friends were incredibly gracious to Dana Hornbeck, who shot the wedding with me, and myself. We could not have have asked to be treated any better, we were treated like family, and Chris, the wedding coordinator, and his staff were magnificent. The decorations were lovely and the food was delicious. There will be other images posted soon and we expect the gallery to be online early next week. God bless Kayla and Josh, we wish them a lifetime of happiness.
