Lyndsey & Chase - An Eastman Country Wedding

Lyndsey and Chase's online gallery is available. Click HERE to go to their private website and enter 20110129 when asked for a PASSCODE.

Here is a slide show of Lyndsey and Chase's wedding images. The first time through it may sputter and pause while is caches the streaming video; let it run until it completes once - after that it will run without interruption every time after.

Our studio was blessed to participate in the wonderful wedding in Eastman, Georgia of Lyndsey Harrell and Chase Dahlstrom. We had a wonderful time and their reception had to be the event of the season in Eastman; it rocked! Our crew of photographers consisted of Jeff Franks, Dana Hornbeck, Steve Glass and Alex Smith; it was awesome to work with everyone again on our first wedding of the season.

The weather was just gorgeous; temperatures in the mid 60s and clear. Low humidity and the stars were little lanterns in the sky in honor of Lyndsey and Chase's joyous union. So we want to collectively wish a heartfelt congratulation to Chase and send our best wishes to Lyndsey; may they share a lifetime of love and happiness. We would also like to thank all the wonderful folks we met in Eastman at the wedding, be they family, wedding party, relatives, friends, vendors or the nice people that waved at us as we went down the road. You were all so gracious and so kind to us and we want you to know that we really appreciated it; God bless you all.

So, let's share some images. This first image is a shot near a location on the Harrell's property called 'the cabin' which overlooked their home and the large tent that was where the magic happened during the the reception.

Bridesmaid's Brunch

This next series of images are from early in the day at the Bridesmaid's Brunch. What a beautiful home and what incredibly nice folks that invited us in - thanks from Dana and Jeff for making us feel so at home.

Bride & Bridesmaids Preparation

Dana and Jeff captured some images of Lyndsey and her bridesmaids preparing for the wedding at the church. The ladies were so beautiful in their dresses and Lyndsey was gorgeous in her gown... she took our breath away.

Groom & Groomsmen Preparation

Jeff captured images of Chase and his groomsmen preparing at the church. The gentlemen were looking dapper in their tuxedos and they shared some private moments before the wedding joking and teasing each other.

First Look

Jeff and Dana recorded Chase's first look at Lyndsey in her wedding gown before the ceremony. Lyndsey and Chase decided to shoot the formal images with the wedding party and their families before the ceremony; they shared their first look in the sanctuary during a very private moment just for the two of them.

Ceremony

Jeff, Dana, Steve and Alex photographed Lyndsey and Chase's beautiful wedding ceremony at the First United Methodist Church in Eastman, Georgia.

Lyndsey & Chase - The Cabin

Jeff captured some very private moments that Lyndsey and Chase shared at a location called the cabin. The cabin was up on a hill that overlooked the reception tent. This was also the spot where the horse and carriage picked up the newlyweds and carried them down for their grand entrance.

Formals

Jeff and Dana teamed up to capture the formal images of the wedding party and families; the formals were shot before the ceremony.

Details

Dana, Steve, Alex and Jeff captured the details of Lyndsey and Chase's big day.

Reception

What a great party!!! Great band, great tent, great folks and great food and drink; it was awesome!!!

The Band

Lyndsey and Chase and their guests danced the evening away. The band was absolutely excellent!!!

Musicians

Insonnia - Blackstock Vineyards

Barbara and I met with Insonnia (Curtis Jones - guitar & mandolin, Pete Orenstein - keyboards and Mark Leitalian - percussion) at Blackstock Vineyards in Dahlonega, Georgia to shoot some promotional images for the band. Insonnia is releasing a new album soon, their sound is so unique and Curtis, Pete and Mark are such powerful musicians. I encourage everyone to listen to their beautiful music - they're incredibly talented.

I shot these images with my Nikon D3x, a variety of lenses, and Elinchrom Ranger RX powered heads and two Mola (Euro and Demi) beauty dishes and a shoot through Elinchrom umbrella. It was a cold day and the guys were freezing during the shoot. Ambient temperature was 31 degrees and the wind was blowing at about 15 knots making it feel much, much colder.

Curtis, Pete and Mark were real troopers and we got some great shots against the dusk sky adjacent to the vines. In several of the images you can see smoke from a forest fire burning on the side of one of the mountains; the sun had set and night was upon as we packed our equipment and the flames from the fire could be seen prominently in the distance. We wish that any damage from the fire was minimal and the local crews were able to get it under control quickly even in the high winds.

Interested in the music of Insonnia? Please check out their website/blog to see what they're up to and where they're playing next.

Personal

The Big Snow Storm of 2011

Wow, the second snow storm of the winter and this one is a huge one!!! Accumulation at the house was around 6 inches. The roads are a real mess and there is likely more snow and/or ice coming tomorrow. I went out this evening and shot these hand held at 10,000 ISO, gotta love the D3s in low light.

If I can stay motivated, I will go back out later and mount the D3s on a tripod and shoot some long exposures at low ISO. I shot this across the road from my mailbox. My neighbor has a corner fence post for his horse pasture. The street light is from the rear parking lot of the Baptist church across the road. Kids gotta be lovin' this snow. Nothing better than snow days in the south.
